英語の接続詞の and と or は文頭では使わない。
これは英語圏の人にとったら常識。
理由は、もっともで、等位接続詞の中でも and と or は語と語、句と句、節と節を結ぶものだから、文頭に置くのはおかしいというものだ。
よく、日本人の作文で見かける。

But～. も美しくないとアメリカ人に言われた。
～, but ～. というように使うのが本来の形とのこと。
But ～. ではなく、However ～. ならいいよと言われた。
